check that you are using the latest minedroid and have a 1.3 beta save file on
your phones sd card as world1. also what you may be experiencing is falling off
the map or just looking the wrong way, as default the look controls are
inverted press the menu key then change and fiddle with the settings then go to
persist / save / new and save it as "default" it will open that setting on
start now. the 2 boxes at the bottom corners of the screen are look and move,
if you still cant see anything or its to far away turn on ghost mode in the
player menu. hope this helps.

now mine doesnt crash when block placing, just nothing happens. menu works but
is slow. suspect its the opengl performance as even angry birds is jerky lol.
may have to wait for phone change. will try ghost mode and update you.

if you have opengles 1.0 it should work (a bit slowly but im on a cheap
vodafone 845 and i can run it ok).
1. firstly, dose your phone use android 2.1 or higher? if yes good
2. have you turned invert mode OFF? if yes then good
3. have you saved the settings as default? if yes then good
4. have you tryd reset location in the player menu? if yes
5. dose it show anything / can you see any blocks? if no then
6. create a new save file and build some blocks up then stand on them save and
load it into minedroid (sometimes ive been sent to the bottom of the map for no
reason and or chunks are missing).
if nothing is working, try getting a task killer and killing everything before
you run it.
hope you get Minedroid working! =D

problem is this problem is not occurring on our phones! we dont have enough
technical information from say a debugging system in eclipse from YOUR phones.
we may be able to send back and forth a test version until it is fixed and we
can set it as final.
do none of the steps above work?

also if you can get a task / app killer on your phone and kill all open tasks
before you run minedroid, it REALLY dose help for lag and out of memory errors
my phone faces allot.

Hello, I also have this problem and its very agitating, can someone please help
me resolve it?
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. run on htc incredible
2.
3.
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
tool bar and controls and a grey screen
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
latest version of incredible
version 13 (latest) of minedroid
Please provide any additional information below.
loads toolbar, and the 3 control squares (two on right side, one on left) but
the screen stays sky coloured (grey/blue) and does not load the world. I'm
using a fresh save from my desktop client.
-yes everything is labeled correctly (world1, level.dat)
-I've tried all the steps on comment 7.
-I've even downloaded other peoples level.dat's who have tested it and said it
worked.
why is it not working? Is there a render option or display option i need to
change?

I might have found the reason this is happening. Try and turn on ghost mode and
see (it looks as if it places you inside a block the gravity glitches and you
fall to the bottom of the map. If this is the case then we will just move the
starting place up 1 or 2 blocks. Hope to hear from you all about this.

Richard, no dice. I tried ghost mode as well as resetting position to spawn and
applied it and nothing changed. I'm assuming its that the level isn't loading
at all vs not being displayed because if I select a block and try to place it,
the application freezes.:/

hmm... thats quite strange, those symptoms are exactly what i would expect if
you were under ground in blocks or out of the generated terrain (i have been in
both situations)
do you have a set up of eclipse and the android SDK for debugging?
try looking around with the right touch stick (inverted is on by default so you
might want to turn it off) make sure ghost mode is on to move and try looking
straight up and moving forward (with left touch stick) you will fly up and
hopefully run into some ground or caves (its the only thing i think might be
happening apart from leaving the generated world which is improbable seeing as
you've tried other peoples worlds).
wish you luck.
ps: try set up ghost mode again and save the settings as 'default' then restart
the program (resets your position).

I tried all of the above but no changes. also when i try to "apply the settings

@element1 i get a force close when applying settings all the time! there is a
work around i have found, look at the menu wiki and it tells you how to save
the settings as default so it loads on start of the program thus after the
force close you can open minedroid again with the settings all applied!

I'm using the CDMA version of an HTC Hero, running Cyanogenmod 7.0.3 (It's a
Gingerbread rom). My screen's sky blue for a few seconds after the interface
comes up, then blocks fill in and things make sense.
As for the controls, I had to modify some of their interface parameters to make
the game usable on my phone.
blockview->interface->hotbar->bounds: 75.0,0.0,330.0,75.0
Left Stick->Pad Area: 0.0,0.0,75.0,75.0
Right Stick->Pad Area: 405.0,0.0,75.0,75.0
Right Tap Pad->Pad Area: 405.0,75.0,75.0,75.0
As a note: That puts the controls where I'd expect them to be, but they render
on the screen in the right shape, but the control cluster would need to be
scaled roughly 1.5x to match the actual input hotspots that work.
Hero's a 320x480 screen, and I think the control scaling was hard coded around
a 480x800 or something.

I just tried Minedroid for the first time today, and I'm having the same issue
on every map I've tried so far. Any map I load ends up with a gray-ish screen,
but the controls and the HUD are still there. It doesn't seem to be a
performance issue, because switching between blocks is smooth, but when I place
a block, it crashes every time. I also tried toggling ghost mode, but no change.
I'm running a Samsung Nexus S 4G, with Android 2.3.5 (Gingerbread).
