41 pftanAzAhyasAhya -> pftanAsAhya
42 pfTakipaRqa -> pfTakpiRqa
43 pfTuSavas -> pfTuSravas
44 prakaSIkf -> prakASIkf print error
45 prakftizWasTa -> prakftisTa
46 balavftraGnizUdana -> balavftranizUdana
47 bfhacCavas -> bfhacCravas
48 BaNkf -> BaNktf
49 BadrakArakft -> Badrakft difficult ellipsis
50 maDvfd -> maDvad anudAtta confusion
This is bad, bad, bad. Two coders are doing a job an Indian proofreader could, how come? Jim, I beg you to continue coding, CAE does not deserve that much attention now, does it? It's endless, as I wrote a few months ago - inside it there are literary hundreds of errors, headwords is just the tip of the iceberg. CAE is just an extract from MW. Digitized with legs.
51 miSIkf -> miSrIkf
52.1 vahvi -> vahni 52.2 vahvigfha -> vahnigfha 52.3 vahvitama -> vahnitama 52.4 vahvipatana -> vahnipatana 52.5 vahvimant -> vahnimant 52.6 vahvimaya -> vahnimaya 52.7 vahviSAlA -> vahniSAlA 52.8 vahviSiKA -> vahniSiKA 52.9 vahvisaMskAra -> vahnisaMskAra 52.10 vahvisAtkf -> vahnisAtkf 52.11 vahvisPuliNga -> vahnisPuliNga
53 visaMdfSa -> visadfSa
visadfSa is the form in MW.. CAE itself has sadfSa in the meaning used here. So, its either a
printing error or an oversignt by the author.
54 vfkaRa -> vfkRa
55 vftratUya -> vftratUrya print error
56a vftravidviza -> vftravidviz 56b vftravidvErin -> vftravErin CAE has vidviz, but not vidviza. So, vftrvidviza is probably print error.
57 vfdDiSAdDa -> vfdDiSrAdDa
58 vfzaBakesu -> vfzaBaketu Print error. 'kesu' not in CAE, but ketu is, with meaning used in this samAsa (e.g. = Dvaja, flag)
59 vfzaBasoqaSA -> vfzaBazoqaSA
60a vazRaya -> vfzRya 60b vfzRayAvant -> vfzRyAvant
60a is print error
61 SiSukfcCa -> SiSukfcCra
62 SudDuhfdaya -> SudDahfdaya print error
63 sakfti -> saMkfti
64 savyazWf -> savyazwf or savyazWa ?
MW has savyazwf . OR anudAtta confusion ? Not sure which. Will not change unless clarified.
65 sahfdvaDa -> suhfdvaDa Print error
66 sudurdardfSa -> sudurdfSa
67 smfBiBraMSa -> smftiBraMSa Print error
68 svfr -> svar anudAtta confusion
69a svfrcakzas -> svarcakzas 69b svfrcanas -> svarcanas anudAtta confusion
70a svfrRara -> svarRara 70b svfrRf -> svarRf anudAtta confusion
71 svfrmI|a -> svarmI|a anudAtta confusion
72 hftpadna -> hftpadma
This completes my list of likely errors. The list was all the headwords in CAE which (a) contain 'f', and (b) appear ONLY in CAE (acc. to sanhw1.txt).
I will enter them as corrections once they are vetted.
For reference, that list had 155 records. A few of the corrections came out of the list (such as all the vahvi -> vahni errors). The ones from the list that were NOT marked as errors are put here for reference. A couple have question marks. If you think some are errors, just edit this comment .

@gasyoun This list of 82 shows there are some additional words in CAE.
re 'This is bad, bad, bad. Two coders are doing a job an Indian proofreader could, how come?'
@gasyoun Dear Mr. Manager. This kind of exercise helps increase one's Sanskrit vocabulary. In occasional doses, it is even fun. Coding is fun, but less helpful in increasing Sanskrit knowledge. I do concur that our digitization of CAE (one of the early digitizations) is quite dirty. And I'll probably switch to some other dictionary shortly. Just because 'an Indian proofreader could' do this (which I agree), does not mean that one is presently available.
38c parAnmuKIkf -> parANmuKI kf is not part of headword
and
44 prakaSIkf -> prakASIkf
Don't you think we are giving different treatment to same clients?
64 savyazWf -> savyazwf or savyazWa ?
MW has savyazwf . OR anudAtta confusion ? Not sure which. Will not change unless clarified.
Even I am not sure. Let's keep it pending
66 sudurdardfSa -> sudurdfSa
I would thing that 'sudurdfS' without a at end makes more sense.
Other than mentioned earlier - I agree with @funderburkjim regarding his suggestion.
@gasyoun I completely agree that this is a job which any proof reader can do. But the million dollar question is that we don't have one. So we will have to live with it. As regards the selection of CAE - I think we erred. But now it is near end of possible errors (found by our methods). So, lets pull it through. Next we can take up PW / PWG which will be interesting to you.
73 akftAhvika -> akftAhnika
Ahnika means daily rites. Tallies with meaning and the scan. (from the ? entries of Jim)
74 mamfvaMs -> mamfvas
This is because of the feminine form is mamruzI. (c.f. vidvas (m) -> viduzI (f) )
mamfvas -> mamfvas+I -> mamfus+I -> mamrus+I -> mamrusI -> mamruzI. This is the derivation on that line. So it has to be mamfvas.
75 vfTAyyA -> vfTAwyA
awyA means roaming which tallies with meaning and scan.
Removed question marks from some of the entries there. Noted 3 corrections separately. Now the ? are places where I am not sure either.
@drdhaval2785 re 'Don't you think we are giving different treatment to same clients? '
Yes I agree. Have changed 38c to have 'kf' as part of headword.
@drdhaval2785 re' 64 savyazWf -> savyazwf or savyazWa ? agree - keeping it pending
@drdhaval2785 re '66 sudurdardfSa -> sudurdfSa' or sudurdfS?
Based on meanings in CAE of dfS v. dfSa, and durdfS v. durdfSa and the meaing given under the current 'sudurX' , I think the 'dfSa' forms are meant. Also, the scan shows no virAma.
@drdhaval2785 Re 73-75.
Have added. Glad you untangled these.
So nothing more to discuss here. Let's close this issue.
This is offhsoot of CAE corrections. Details can be seen at https://github.com/sanskrit-lexicon/CORRECTIONS/issues/39#issuecomment-64650590
