When first entering Extensions plugin, GUI flickers for a period of time #17

When first entering Extensions plugin, GUI flickers. I think this is because 
its doing update tasks in the background.

Possibly another issue where it always does an update on restart...probably 
should respect MPEI Installer update properties.

Appears to be related to a LoadDirectory being done after each update.xml is 
downloaded.
