Open Data EU-Initiative #588

Hey, I used to use Öffi and Transportr a lot and since I recently got a pointer to an EU Citizens' Initiative I was wondering of it might be of interest for this and other project. The Initiative is called EU Live Bus Stop Info and strives to make public (bus) transport info more accessible. In their FAQ they say:

What do you exactly strive for (on a technical level)? Down arrow

We pursue to provide transparent and free data for public buses. Open and free data on bus schedules to anyone, and in a machine-readable format, even in real-time. Furthermore, data should be accessible through APIs, and a unique identifier for each bus stop.

Currently it is mainly promoted as having QR codes at Bus stops, since

Installing QR codes is a user-friendly and cost-effective solution that addresses the needs of a diverse range of passengers. Accessibility for All - Cost-Effective - Rapid Implementation - Adaptability - Space Efficiency - Language Inclusivity - User-Centric - Scalability - Reduced Maintenance.

At first glance it might not seem as useful and would only be for Buses but I think it could get something big started.

EU adult citizens can sign here: https://eci.ec.europa.eu/039/public If the threshold is reached until the beginning of next year the EU has to discuss it and take action and provide a proposal for a legal framework or justify why they don't.

So yeah my question would be if that would be useful for this project, I think so, and if so if there are ways to promote it or just let ppl know.
