Not really an issue, more of a recommendation. The 240x240 display, while fine from further away, is pretty obviously low resolution up-close. This makes the final "product" look cheap in my opinion.
There's a number of similarly priced, similarly sized, but 125% higher resolution displays. Here's a good example. 1.32" (compared to the 1.28" of the GC9A01), uses a very similar controller, and comes with a ZIF "lego" connector, making it easier to mount.
I understand that as of this moment there are still memory issues with the selected MCU, but those can be overcome by using a beefier boy in its place (a nice upgrade would be the already noted ESP32-S3, with some PSRAM).
