Currently in the database is “Valvular Heart Disease”. Is this different than “Heart Disease” generally? Do you propose “Valvular Heart Disease” is replaced with “Heart Disease”?
“Heart Disease Prevention” would be meant by specifying one cares about “Heart Disease” because people tag themselves with conditions that they care about.
“Atrial Fibrillation” is currently in the database. Is it a subset of Heart Disease or a separate heart condition altogether?
Is “Congenital Heart Disease” a subset of Heart Disease? How does it relate to “Valvular Heart Disease”?
The tricky balance with this condition database is for tags to not get so specific that people who care about two subtypes of heart disease aren’t able to find each other because they have tagged themselves, one with X1 type of Heart Disease and the other with X2 type of Heart Disease. This is definitely a tricky balance to perform.
@madfaulkner wondering if you had a chance to look at my comments above? curious your thoughts
Sean,
Yes, thanks for checking back in. Valvular heart disease is different and should not be replaced but Heart Disease should be added. Heart Disease prevention is not a disease type of course but rather a common area of research-you make a good point about tagging yourself with that if it is an area of interest. Congenital heart disease is a big area of interest and while valvular may fall within—there are many many variations which is why it is so difficult to study. I really think the list is very narrow. Perhaps you could add a : add a different disease portion?
I will add "Heart Disease", making "Valvular Heart Disease" and "Heart Disease" be 2 separate topics.
