How to obtain blood vessel segmentation in retinal images using Matlab

Introduction:

Retinal imaging takes a digital picture of the back of your eye. It shows the retina (where light and images hit), the optic disk (a spot on the retina that holds the optic nerve, which sends information to the brain), and blood vessels. This helps your optometrist or ophthalmologist find certain diseases and check the health of your eyes. Blood vessel segmentation involves the process of removing unwanted parts or features of the image that the convolution network might unwantedly learn. This segmentation process is very important in the field of medicine. This is since when the vessels are segmented and viewed closely, then the solution of or the cause of a given problem may be defined. This makes it a good application in this field. In this article, we are going to look how we can obtain the blood vessel segmentation in case you have the retinal image.
