This pull request goes against master. It simulates a bug fix that can and should get integrated right away, as opposed to mixing this fix with something on the feature branch, which might need some testing and validation before release.

I understand (and approve) the concept...but I'm not good on navigating the site so I haven't seen the code changes yet....
