The storage of a Serlo content shall be in such a way that it is easy to use it in another context other than HTML (View on a Desktop PC). We do not know which devices will be developed and used in the future. We also do not know what features those devices will have and how content shall be displayed / stored on such devices. Thus it should be a goal, that Serlo shall store its content in such a form that it can easily be used in other contexts. Thus the storage shall not be presentational rather than semantic. It should be stored what the content is rather than how it should look like. There are a lot of advantages for such a principle:
Implementation of responsive design is easy (see #15 )
Exports in other formats like Word or ePub is easy to implement (see #18 )
We can better adapt our content to new devices (VR and AR, see #2 )
