Guard villager armor stands / gear workstation #7

Based on @Marteori's original post, it would be great to allow guards to interact with armor stands (whether that's a modded armor stand so as not to override vanilla, or vanilla armor stand only when placed on a specific type of block, like smooth stone.)

Posting the original suggestion from @Marteori for reference:

  • Guard villagers can take armor from the armor stand.
  • If they have armor on them, they change their armor on the armor stand, if they are better.
  • And add some requirement for the armor stand at which they will be able to take armor. (For example, that the armorstand stood on a block of andesite) [Otherwise they will be able to remove armor that stands for decoration]

My feedback on this feature:

I'd love to see a modded version of armor stands as actual guard workstations, where armor can be equipped from. This allows the vanilla stand to be unchanged and cross-compatible with other mods that might touch them.

It would be even better to have the modded stands allow for weapons to be equipped (similar to how it's done in Quark), so that the guards can pick those up as well. Once a guard eqiups gear from the workstation, it could lock to that guard so that if they die, a new villager can take their place. This would keep a vanilla-like feel with the workstation mechanic.

Perhaps to keep it balanced, the player would need to equip new armor and weapons to the stands when 1) the guards' gear eventually breaks (allowing them to go back and equip) and 2) a guard dies and a new villager is ready to lock to the workstation and equip new gear. The Hero of the Village mechanic could still be useful, allowing the player to manually upgrade their guards' gear instead of waiting for it to break.
