Error signing in to google: Valid <!DOCTYPE of type java.lang.String cannot be converted to JSONObject #12

At the end of the welcome screens, I have tried to Sign in to google, and I get the following error:

Valid <!DOCTYPE of type java.lang.String cannot be converted to JSONObject

About : Current Version = unknown

(installed 15th Sept 2013, approx 8PM UTC)

As a work around, I could setup the account via: Sync and Backup.

right, I need to remove that screen. What its doing is trying to get you into asrid.com via you google id. setting up via sync and backup is the correct thing to do
