5.1 and/or 7.1 Channel Audio #378

One of the biggest gripes i have with most media players is the lack of more
than 2 channel audio output. I know this is not commonly used on computers and
is not easy to implement but it would be a nice addition.

Currently Windows Media Player is the only media player i have found that
natively supports surround sound. Spotify, iTunes, and other big names don't
even support it. So i feel you might be able to get a wider audience from
people with surround sound systems.

I'm not sure how this could be implemented as i have never used the Bass.Net
SDK (API?) myself but from some quick research it seems possible.

I have wondered about this as well. I have two surround systems in my home but
I don't think I have any 7.1 or 5.1 audio files to actually test this with.

So far I have been using Windows' built in function to "fake" surround by
putting mono sound in all speakers but it would be nice if Stoffi could play
true surround sound.

Do you have any suggestions on where I can find files to test surround with?

Here's some 5.1 test files in various formats, not sure about 7.1
