Now if you wanted to modify the file yourself, this is the path: dist/devices/camera.js
However, we should perhaps re-consider how Canary modes are mapped to HomeKit modes.
I’ve tried editing that file but no luck so far. I only get errors, which might have something to do with that fact that I have no idea what I’m doing :D I’ve tried switching the lines for STAY_ARM and DISARMED but that didn’t really work. Perhaps someone could help with that.
I understand @thechrisreese reasoning in calling it HOME-ARMED, but the fact that the camera is off and its not recording video or sound, I still believe mapping the Canary mode of “home” to the HomeKIt mode of “unarmed” would make the most sense.
ok finally on here - @humphreyyy I understand the desire - however, my perspective is that the Canary is NOT off when it is in Home Mode - it is in Home Mode.
Changing it is a few lines of code and I don't think would be too big of a hassle to have a version available that does this.
A question for you both, how often do you fully disarm the Canary? Do you leave it in Home Mode all the time? Or fully disarm it?
Hey, sorry for the late reply. I don’t know of any way to fully disarm he canary short of pulling the plug on it. For me the Home Mode is the disarm mode pretty much.
Hey
I finally got homebridge to work with my Canary and so far I love being able to control the arm-states with my homekit scenes. I do however have one question: Right now, when I'm at home and my canary isn't recording or sending notifications, it still says "security system armed" and my canary is set to "home". While that's technically correct, I wonder if there's a way to make Canary's Home-State equal to HomeKit's Off-State. That way my security system would report "disarmed" when I'm at home.
Are there any files that I could edit to achieve that?
Thanks in advance! Michael
