11 months ago Update: The blank screen was caused by 2 factor in combination:
- Running the ISO test in a VM
- The VM was not given '3d-acceleration'
By turning on 3d-acceleration I got past the black screen. I assume this is is only a VM problem and will go ahead and call this completed
The ISO now downloads the correct package and installation completes without any apparent problmems. However, the installed system doesn't manage to get further than luks password prompt, after which the system simply hangs on a black screen with a blinking cursor in the top left corner.
Using the built-in troubleshooting mode of the ISO I tried to "rescue" the system but it simply tells me that there are no Linux file system partitions on the disk. Further investigation is needed.
