Regarding #84 Check if we can easily make travis additionally execute tests with python 3.8

This PR should run travis also with 3.8, thus it hopefully helps to spot all the little issues with updating python to 3.8 as suggested by @pgrt in #84. I suggest to first merge this PR and than those from @pgrt. Or even better: first fix the found python issues :-)
