wrong audio language #87

I recently reactivated my crunchyroll account and tried this addon to watch shows on kodi, it works but the language is japanese although the anime I am watching has a french audio track (I checked on the video player on the crunchroll website and it's indeed playing in french).

is there some hidden settings somewhere to be able to choose the audio track ?

What is your configuration in the settings for the subtitle language and the fallback subtitle language? I'd try to set the subtitle language to fr-FR and the fallback one to en-US - that way it will prefer french subtitles and fall back to english ones, if no french ones are available.

This also affects the audio languages for dubs.

There are more settings that affect filtering of shows that are not in your supported language either by subtitle or audio or both. The defaults should already work if you set the subtitle languages appropriately, as described above.

If it still is in the wrong audio language, go to your watchlist in the addon. Right click on the episode you want to watch. Open "Goto Series" and check if there are multiple entries with different languages. If so, pick the french one.

Hope that helps.

Edit, to clarify this a bit:

Crunchyroll does not provide separate audio streams for the video but instead, for each audio language, it has its own stream. In Kodi, to support multiple audio languages on a video, we would need a video stream and separate audio streams - which crunchyroll does not provide.

So when you go to the seasons view of an anime, this addon lists all seasons of an anime and if there are multiple language versions, it lists the seasons multiple times and puts the audio language within braces in the title.

You could get something like:

Now, initially the addon listed all available languages, which was a bit annoying if you don't speak those languages - why list a spanish/french/whatever dub, if you would never watch that? Because of this, a settings was added to filter out these dubs that you can't understand anyway - if you like to. It is enabled by default.

To determine which audio it should still show you, it will look at the one to two languages you can define as your prefered subtitle language. Japanese audio will always be listed.

Hope that clarifies things. If it is not working for you, please let me know and provide some details on your settings and maybe which anime you're trying to watch.

Cheers!

Thanks, I will try that today :)

I don't why I didn't have this initially but I now have the "(FR)" seasons.

Thank you for keeping this addon alive, I wouldn't even have reactivated my crunchyroll account if I wasn't able to watch their content through kodi.
