PCB: PCI-E connector not needed #18

Closed softerhardware closed 9 years ago

The current prototype contains a PCI-E form factor connector meant to interface to XMOS processors via their slice interface. This turned out to be unused. It can be removed. The component side fingers are incorrect in the Kicad library module.

This connector will be removed. A few pins will remain so that an external ethernet adapter can be connected easily. This will permit operation with the Cyclone V BeMicro CV. This will support adapters based on the DP83848, like the one one the BeMicro SDK, so minimal code changes will be required. Search for DP83848 on ebay or amazon and you will see multiple small boards from $9-$15.

This is untested but optional. It is only to experiment with using the BeMicro CV. $49 + $12 for this combination is less than the BeMicro SDK.

Done. This was removed. The DP83848 board was tested.
