Does changing

select.attr('data-placeholder').length

to

select.attr('data-placeholder') && select.attr('data-placeholder').length

solve the issue @mssimi ?

I also think this is related, but I not able to check it out as I'm having some days off.

@VincentLanglet I can confirm that changing select.attr('data-placeholder').length to (select.attr('data-placeholder') && select.attr('data-placeholder').length) works fine!
