This will translate the crank and cam signals into engine and cam angle.

the aim is to achieve OEM levels of accuracy up to 20k crank rpm.

Gathering details on bosch gtm, nxp etpu and ti hwag will give good inspiration for what is expected of a timing core.

This will need to initially support generic missing tooth wheels, but with scope to select vendor specific patterns without the need to rebuild the hdl
