HTC Thunderbolt profile doesn't work, LG Optimus S does... on my HTC Thunderbolt

What version of wireless tether are you using?
3.1 beta 2

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Change the device profile to HTC Thunderbolt (or leave at Auto)
2. Start the tethering process

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The Verizon wireless mobile hotspot appears in the notification bar and 
replaces the Wifi Tether app.  Android Tether appears in my list of available 
networks on my laptop, but I cannot fully connect (connect with Limited 
Connectivity), and the MAC address does not show up in the WiFi program letting 
me know that my PC has connected.  From the browser, nothing can be loaded.

Please provide any additional information below.
I noticed that when I change the device profile to LG Optimus S, then the 
tether seems to work just fine with no interruptions!  I have not tried this in 
a 4G area.  The ROM I tried this on was AOSP.

Is wifi tethering completely broken for 2.3 on the thunderbolt?  I was going to 
flash the rom earlier today but if wifi tethering doesn't work I won't flash.

im having this problem with liquid gingersense 2.3.5. and wifi tether 3.1 
beta5. no internet connection

I flashed Uber Bamf 2.3 and wifi tethering works great! :)
