We've already discussed this, and it's something we will implement at some point, hopefully not long left :)
The way we've thought is to either pop up a dialog if the user drops the app on the same tab or place, with options such as Hide,
Rename
and Move apps
(which would show a checkbox on the applications to mass-move); or under a planned Settings
activity (or probably both places).
I have a lot of apps already installed on my phone. I don't mind categorizing them into groups, but the problem is that it is very tedious right now.
A UX I like is how Nova Launcher handles it. If you dig through the menus to edit folders or tabs in Nova, it will present a menu choice to edit the apps contained within the folder/tab. If you touch that option, it will present a modal window with a checklist of all apps installed. (Those apps contained within are already checked.)
Something similar, to be able to mass-assign a lot of apps to a category is one of my personal blockers to using Silverfish as my main launcher.
