I've found this, to some extent. It does work, just not well.
For example, in Vivaldi (a much better [IMO] chrome-based browser), it will start to use its internal downloader, and bring up the "Save", "Save As..." and "Open/Run" option window. If you select "Open/Run", it will then trigger the XDM download window to appear.
It will also correctly load XDM when you right-click a link, and select "Save link as...". It's not ideal, and also won't work on more intelligent download links (time-gated download sites, etc.).
It's not seamless, by any stretch of the imagination, but it does work with an extra button click or two, and I've found that with a combination of these two techniques, I can capture all downloads in XDM.
same issue here, doesn't work on firefox, addon couldn't connect to the app.
Same here on Firefox
idem
Same here firefox flatpak on linux
confirming same issue on archlinux with slimjet (chromium-based)
It does work for me using version 8.0.18-beta on fedora 37 with firefox 108.0.2 extension version is 1.3. @aarzoo8810 I do not think it will work with flatpak version of firefox. after all flatpak is intended to be an isolated platform.
It could work if Idm were to create a localhost server to share information with extension. @theuserwhoisnotadeveloper
It's still not working..any fixes ? i tried 8.0.18 but not working
In chrome, even after added id for registering in XDM it's still unactive and cause registration request page every open the Chrome, and download manager still use chrome built-in downlaoder. Also in firefox, the extension looks doesn't do anything
