We tested the Home Automation section with some volunteers from older people to kids.

To enhance the usabilitiy of the home automation widgets here our suggestions:

Licht Switch No on/off button - The widget itself is the button.

Dimmer Switch No on/off button - The widget itself is the button. The won space should be used to create a bigger slider for dimming.

Shutter No slider. A bigger shutter icon itself is the slider. No buttons. Touching the slider lets the slider drive up or down depending on its state. While driving the slider indicates with red blinking. Touching the slider while blinking sends the stop command.

Socket/Window/Door No Buttons. Just the icon indicates the state of the device. The people allways wanted to hit the button to see if the window will open...

Thermostats The mode buttons are too small. The Widget should indicate the actual mode with just one icon. Bigger + and minus buttons to set the temperature in comfort mode. When touching the widget the four modes appear and the mode can be set.
