Monitor instantly wakes up from energy saving in Sway

  • My monitor doesn't switch to sleep mode properly when it triggered by swayidle or by manually (swaymsg output DP-1 dpms toggle). Monitor actually acquires the sleep mode request but wakes up itself just couple seconds after. Then trying to go in sleep mode again but wakes up itself just couple afterwards again. This cycle continues as a constant loop. The same behavior issued in Plasma Wayland by someone else and fixed (I can confirm).

Possibly unrelated, but I had a similar issue that the system would instantly wake from sleep after getting a Tofu60 2.0 keyboard. Updating the keyboard's QMK firmware fixed it for me. Does your issue happen even with no usb peripherals connected?

can you run sway with the debug flag to generate a comprehensive debug log sway -d 2>~/sway.log and upload here.
