We also encounter the same problem and support told us Quote: "For now any users using a WDC for incremental refresh, should use the 2.0 framework". The problem is that the Incremental refresh documentation for wdc2 (https://help.tableau.com/current/api/webdataconnector/en-us/docs/wdc_incremental_refresh.html) still contains this sentence "Important: Tableau Web Data Connector 2.0 (this version) is being deprecated at Tableau 2023.1 and eventually retired. We will still support WDC 2.0 until its last compatible version of Tableau (Tableau 2022.4) goes End of Life and is no longer supported." This is a very critical issue for us. We would like to understand what the direction is, because for us, a wdc without incremental refresh, is not usable
i have created a connector based on WDC 3.0 and while testing it, I found that after the connection is setup, the connection does not have the "Extract Data" option enabled under which the "Incremental extract" can be configured. WDC 3.0 documentation does not mention anything about not supporting incremental refresh. I searched various forums to get an answer and did not find any answers
