"Coverage format" error when opening the font in different font tools #853

Trying to use the latest font in different font tools ends up with an error in the console related to "coverage format":

Error: 0x2df4: Coverage format must be 1 or 2.

The error appears no matter the font (ttf, woff, woff2, eot)

I've never seen this kind of error on any font, but I'm not an expert.
