Magic clock - weather doesn't display without data connection #257

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
Hi, I use the magic clock widget (weather refreshing every 4 hours), and as
long as the data connection is enabled, the weather shows up fine. But if I
refresh and then disable data connection right after that, the weather shows
"No data" "Tap to refresh" with a "?" near it.

Is there a setting that I overlooked to have the recent weather data show up?
(since I refreshed less than a minute ago - verified on lockscreen - that data
is still accurate). Other weather widgets I've used keep the recent weather
data available for a few hours at least. Is there a way to get that?

What Phone Are you using--Maguro(GSM)-TORO(Verizon)-TOROPLUS(Sprint)
1. Toroplus

What is the build date & version listed in the phone settings
1. 3/29 - 21:55:49 PDT / JDQ39-4.2.2_r1

What Kernel are you using when this issue appears
1. 3.0.70-Sourcerizer

What Gapps did you install(If obscure please tell us where you got them)
1. StandardGapps 4.2.2 - (4.2.2-nophotosphere.zip) from
http://teamsourcery.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=1379&p=6478#p6478

What steps will reproduce the problem?
(We need exact steps to reproduce bug)
1. Enable magic clock (set to refresh weather every 4 hours)
2. With data connection on, verify at lockscreen (pin locked, with widget set
to open maximized) that weather displays
3. Unlock screen, disable data (3g and wifi)
4. Lock the screen, and look at weather on lockscreen widget - I see "No data"
"Tap to refresh" with a "?" near it.

Have you tried this on any other rom where it worked as you expect?
(yes/no--ROM) (thanks)
1. No

Did this function correctly on a previous Sourcery rom version.
(which version)
1. Not available on previous version (5.1.1) that I used.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
As long as the weather data was refreshed less than 'x' hours ago ('x' = update
interval that is set in widget settings), show that forecast in the widget even
if data connection is not available.

What recovery are you using to install the rom.
(twrp/cwm ?)
TWRP

Please provide any additional information below.

Cool, thanks!
Just one more question - it looks like dashclock is now part of the ROM itself,
rather than the downloadable app.

While the ability to change the colors is nice, is there a way to be able to
go back to the stock dashclock widget (I can't update it from the playstore
since it is part of the ROM now).

Is it safe to delete it using titanium backup, and then install from playstore?
