Non intuitive Interface #18

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

The new interface containing just icons is much less productive than the old
one, with icons and names.

For example, there are three different “check” icons that mean completely
different things. I am a recurrent user and I always need to place the mouse to
see what each one of them is.

Another issue is about the OWL transformation settings option that now is
hidden.

My humble suggestion is to go back to the old style =)

Hi Pedro Paulo,

In the actual release (0.8.20) we've migrated all the buttons at the diagram
toolbar (those appeared with icons by the diagram) to the application main menu
and to the main toolbar. We've added shortcuts (key bindings) for them which
considerably should improve the tool usability.

It's important to mention that some buttons are now displayed through a popup
menu at the right click of the mouse, for instance, the old Check buttton
(Right Click on the diagram-> Verify Model Syntactically), among others.

We are slowly trying to find a suitable way for displaying the buttons to the
user. Any suggestion regarding the interface is very welcome.

Cheers,
John

Hi Pedro,

We are constantly changing the interface to better suit the user. So, a lot of
these suggestions were already made. I am closing this issue since it no longer
applies to the current version of the tool. The icons are very suggestive and
they all have tooltip texts to clarify their usage. Thanks a lot for your
collaboration and feel free to send us any other feedback even with regard to
the interface.

Regards,
John
