It is unbelievable, this arrogance of the Java programmers
We want to code in Go and hope that this industrial enterprise software crap like Java is going to die really really soon.
A hypocrite confirmed. Please be upset about what other people do somewhere else.
that bloated crap like [...] C++
Sorry, what?
I'm not really sure what your motivations are, but something we can all agree is that you really have no clue about software development at all, and this can all be expressed by this quotes:
It is unbelievable, this arrogance of the Java programmers, that they always have this urge to port every programming language to their holy sacred GayVM.
I'm not sure who you are calling arrogant ? it seems like you are talking to a mirror. Java have first appeared in May 23, 1995; 21 years ago, with this long age, is more than natural that other languages are ported into the JVM and not the inverse. There are really great things in Java, most of the banks in the world are running in Java, most of the software in this world is running on the JVM and will be doing so for many years to come, wanting you or not. Its not a matter of taste, is a matter of reality.
I was presenting this project on Gophercon 2015 and I got lots of complements and people really exited on having a peak on this awesome experimentation that have been really well done by the authors. I personally only have positive ideas when such a complete and well executed project is open-sourced, with such eye for detail.
You didn't understand anything about the philosophy of Go. We Go programmers made the conscious choice to MOVE AWAY from that bloated crap like Java or C++.
I'm not sure if YOU understand a word of what is written on the readme.md file for this project. This is a experimentation, that should only be cheered by the braveness, courage, own will and determination that the authors have implied. You are, in the other side of the story, mixing feelings and saying that we don't understand Golang ? I bet we are. In fact, I'm very sure that Robert Griesemer, Rob Pike and Ken Thompson are right now ashamed just like everyone else would be, for having such extreme n00bie developer shouting and bragging no-sense arguments just like that.
C++ have its good and bad points, we have all been there. However, blaming culture and pessimism is not going to get you anywhere.
We want to code in Go and hope that this industrial enterprise software crap like Java is going to die really really soon.
You are such a n00bie, you have no idea what are you talking about. And how are you planning to ditch Cobol by the way ? Or C++? Don't forget one thing my dear n00bie, the world have its own wills, the market is driven by working software and well, Java maybe not the most fancy and new tech in the zone, but for sure it deserves ALL our respect, just like Cobol, C++ and all other languages.
To finish, one day you will remember, there is no such a thing like a perfect language, the hipe Golang is having today, maybe not the case tomorrow. Only the time will say. There is no reason for being discussing what language is better than the other, the only thing I can say is: Each language is better than the other, when the Human behind understand when and for what it should be used.
Cheers.
I just stopped by here via Discord (someone shared it to me), and I would like to recommend to close this.
It's really nonsense at this point to argue.
It's really nonsense at this point to argue.
It's entertaining though.
Up! Keeping this discussion alive. Because this gem can not die
Dropping in , in 2024 to marvel at this truly unhinged issue.
@hulaahopp , might I suggest encapsulating your concerns in a pull request.
(Not that he'll ever read this. It appears that this account has one single activity in its entire existance. Posting this unhinged rant)

You didn't understand anything about the philosophy of Go. We Go programmers made the conscious choice to MOVE AWAY from that bloated crap like Java or C++. We are NOT more productive by using Java libraries. Get yourself acquainted with the principles of Go first before you indulge blindly to your urge that everything on this earth needs to be ported to JVM, no matter what its philosophy was in the first place.

We really don't need another Java port of $Programminglanguage. We want to code in Go and hope that this industrial enterprise software crap like Java is going to die really really soon.
