Update site problem #94

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
I think there is something wrong with the eclipse's update site. For some
reasons, I think when I run updates, it will try to download all the jars
even though I selected only the stable version of it. So it makes the update
time to be very long and it will consume too much bandwidth on your side I
think...

The "stable" version is so old, I would not recommend it. The Integration
builds are
the ones you early adopters should try. If you have a favourite you think is
extra
good we could build a stable version from it.

thanks. I'll try it. The point is just that the update site is slower than it
should
be. It tries to load all the jars. Should it be done that way?

Not really and it doesn't seem to be related. I dropped most versions now so
that will
speed things up though the fundamental problem remains. Thanks for the hint.

Thanks for the notice.

Fixed again. This time it was a DNS problem when the server was started after a
long
poweroutage so the virtual server stuff did not initialize properly.
