This is a great idea. Unfortunately, the conversion of the virtual machine with the Ubuntu web server always stops at the same file: lrwxrwxrwxrwxrwxrwx root/root 0 2024-09-11 16:24 ./snap/bin/lxd.lxc-to-lxd -> /usr/bin/snap. What could be the problem? Is it possible to bypass this file when conve Conversion VM to CT Fatal Aborting rting?

Thanks for reporting this. Are you able to tell me a few things to try and reproduce this on our end?

Which distribution and version (or if it's an ISO where I may be able to get it? Hopefully standard Ubuntu Server LTS?) is the source vm?
Which version of Proxmox is it and do you have any non-standard configurations on there (looks like you haven't opted for ZFS on that install, but outside that anything fancy?)?

Are you able to find any error outputs in the /tmp folder? We dump a .err and .tmp files.

The other thing is, does changing to v1.1.0 have any effect: https://github.com/thushan/proxmox-vm-to-ct/releases/tag/v1.1.0

Hi, friend,

The version of Proxmox VE is 8.2.8.
I don't know what exactly you mean, which distribution and version (or if it is ISO) is the source vm? I hope this information helps you: the original vm with Linux 6.x OS - 2.6 Kernel is imported from VMware vmdk format to qcow2 format.
