As I mentioned before, the editor does not allow for autocomplete on multiple characters (@ AND #, I need to pick one). This is a problem with the underlying component on which I already lost a lot of valuable development hours. I have added remarks on the original issue and hope the creator(s) of the component will come up with a fix for this in the future. https://github.com/draft-js-plugins/draft-js-plugins/issues/1418
