from comments on gse site:

"It would be great if one could exclude some windows from being tiles. I'd prefer not to tile Empathy's Contact List window, for instance. Reg exp patterns to match could perhaps be specified in a text file. Alternatively, an xkill/kwin-style pointer option in the menu to interactively specify which window/class to exclude would be very nice."

Good idea…I've been missing that too. Has there been any progress into that direction?

Nope, not yet - patches welcome ;)

:+1: either this or a way to prevent popups from going full width (like the one from file-roller)
