Dev pool failed to connect #17

I am running the miner 0.3.8 under HiveOS using custom package (only 0.3.7 is officially supported). The miner works but logs the "Dev pool failed to connect," message. The rig is behind NAT, but all the internet is accessible from this machine.

Can you suggest what should I check to resolve the issue. I don't have any special firewall rules, but you deserve to get some fee. Please suggest.

For starters try to ping or traceroute dev.teamredminer.com

osnwt commented 6 years ago

This site is hosted on Google and is inaccessible from my rig's location. That's the reason. Any alternatives or suggestions?

I'm afraid all of our dev fee servers are in fact hosted on google cloud. Do you mind if I ask which region/country you are located in?

osnwt commented 6 years ago

Some region of Russia. It's a known issue with Hooli hosted sites :-)

Do you know if other cloud providers are similarly blocked? AWS for example?

osnwt commented 6 years ago

AFAIK, no others clouds do things which can easily be worked around. I will try to setup a VPN for this link. I can resolve the issue when I know the source of it. Thank you.

Dev pool connected and ready :-)

Awesome! Thanks for taking the effort to solve that :)

No problem. Just a /etc/hosts and 4 lines of haproxy config solve the issue.
