Cantrips not applying damage #1236

Some cantrips aren't applying damage to the targeted creature. The ones I can identify are sacred flame and mind sliver. Both of them require a saving throw to be made and I know that there was that entry a few months ago about the order in which the buttons are clicked. I tried clicking the buttons in both orders but it didn't make a difference. Please let me know if I can provide further detail as I am really looking forward to using this module extensively

Moonbeam also doesn't seem to work. Is there some setting I need to turn on or edit within the spell's details to get Midi-QOL to recognize it as damage?

Second update - it does indeed have something to do with saving throws. In the Midi settings I turned on automatic saving throws and damage was then calculated correctly.

You've identified the issue. Any item that has a saving throw needs midi to be checking saving throws, otherwise it will never apply damage since it can't tell if the player saved or not.

So set check saves to something other than none - depending on whether you want the players to see the results of the saves.

If you leave prompt player to roll saves to none - midi will auto roll the save for the players. You can give them control of rolling the save by chat (a message is sent to chat telling what sort of save to do and they then click the save from their character sheet) or you can use one of the modules Let Me Roll That for You or Monks Token Bar, both of which will allow the players to get notified of the need to save and the ability to click on a button to do the roll.

You might also want to enable merge rolls to one card (misc settings tab) else, keeping track of all the rolls/saves can get quite confusing.

You might want to enable auto check hits as well - otherwise midi will aplly the damage to all targets - since it does not then update who was hit.
