Abrams method in appendix? #58

Hi @kunstler

In your recent commit you suggested

I'm wondering if we should keep in the appendix the results for the other derivation of the competition based on the partial derivative of the fitness as in Abrams. This is quite classical. "In the appendix we also compare our estimate of the competition coefficient to the approach of \citet{Abrams-1987}."

Do you mean just for the DD99 model? Did we already do that? Or for all models? We can add it but if not already calculated then I'd tend to skip for now, because of extra work, unless you want to do it ?

We had this section in the methods of an older version

But I don't think we need to keep that. We can not cover all the alternative way of computing the competition coef.
