Checks that the input type for extras is correct
Verifies that extra files don't get injected into the stream
Verifies that extra will let files through if and extra is newer than dest

Thanks for contributing the tests @mitchhentges! I started reworking the extra handling a bit, but then it got too involved. I feel better at least having some coverage here now.
