Try to use this workaround. I can use R500 on Kobo Libra2 and Kobo Clare 2E.

I tried kobo-libra2-uhid-module few days ago and it messed my Libra2 to the point it crashed and started with setup wizards. I had to remove it to bring it to usable state. Note: i did not try to compile it myself.
That's too bad. I used general Linux source code to build uhid.ko, and it works for me. Maybe your spotlight need source code of Kobo Linux to build special kernel module.
Thanks for your contribution! I also saw your suggestion about maintaining a list of supported devices, which I think is a great idea. I'm not aware of which devices other people have successfully used, but we could start building that list with this one.
You mentioned issues with the Libra 2. Have you tested it with any other Kobo readers? Did it require uhid.ko, or any other special steps? I could add some notes to the README, maybe with a link to this PR.
Logitech Spotlight remote is similar to R500 one and advertises itself with
SPOTLIGHT
name, so configuration file should be.btpt/SPOTLIGHT
.Still, I was not able to make it work with Kobo Libra 2 yet it does not want to fully connect to it. Also Bluetooth seems to be by default always off after resume from sleep.
It displays "CONNECTING..." for few seconds with the moving circle and after that "Failed to connect". No idea how to get access to some logs to make it work.
