Importing kml/gpx to MyTracks using a Google Nexus 4 #1503

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

On a Nexus 4, there is no way I can access the directory /MyTracks/kml such
that I can actually put a kml in there. Compared with a Samsung S3, there is no
in-build feature of the phone's OS to allow me to access this directory and,
for example, save a kml email attachment in there and import it to MyTracks.

If someone with a Nexus 4 can actually import a kml file to MyTracks, I'd be
very surprised and would love to know how they did it.

Thanks!

When you connect your phone to your PC/Mac, are you able to access the
/MyTracks/kml folder on the SD card?

There are free file manager apps available in the Google Play store that allow
you to move files around on the SD card.

Also, if you have Google Drive sync enabled, you can add the kml file in your
Google Drive 'MyTracks' folder and it will get imported.

Thanks for your help.

I am accessing the MyTracks folder on my phone via USB. The MyTracks
directory on my phone has both a kml and gpx folder.

When I put a gpx file in the gpx folder and 'Import all', it seems to
import it. However, when I put a kml file in the kml folder, it says
'Error. Imported 0 of 1 files from /MyTracks/kml'. The kml file which I am
trying to import is from Google Earth (it's not a kmz). I have attached it
for you. Can you please see if the kml imports for you?
