We have not defined what the categories can/should be, so this is something we can explore. For this guide specifically, what would be the question it would aim to answer? That will help to assess what is relevant and help clarify the scope 😊
That's a good one! @Jolien-S, what do you think, what kind of question will be answered? What research data management regulations are relevant for my faculty/department/research group? Which general institutional requirements apply to my work and the work of my colleagues? ... these are initial thoughts
When I discussed this with Lena this morning, we discussed that probably, we will need two separate guides in which policies are integrated:
To achieve this, it would be good to at least create the following topics:
Thanks @Jolien-S for expanding on this. 😊
Do these rephrased guides work for you? We can disucss during coworking.
Also, I can go along with ethics committees and research assessment, but want to ask how the first ("Research data and software management policy") may overlap with topics like DMP?
This is a good one; we don't mention the "Research data and software management policy" in the DMP topic, but it should probably be mentioned somewhere. We do mention ethical committee in quite some detail, so there is definitely an overlap. Ideally, both Research data and software management policy and Ethics committees are building blocks that we can refer to. Is it an idea that we add links, like we wanted to do with relevant trainings?
@Jolien-S and I discussed a guide that would be more oriented towards policy officers, data stewards, RDM contact persons and department heads. It would incorporate the RDM policy and relevant topics referenced in the policy such as data storage tools. @chartgerink - do I remember it right that we saw potential for adding a different audience when we created Categories for the Guides (top right)?
