We're writing to inform you that we have used data from your collection in the research and writing of a paper focussed on the presence and accessibility of trait data within the biodiversity collections aggregated into the VertNet data portal. Not only will our research be detailed in a paper, we have used this opportunity to create a novel feature in the VertNet portal that will allow users (just like you) to search by traits - even if the trait data themselves are buried within an occurrence record.
The paper will be submitted for publication this summer. Upon it's publication we will release a public version of the VertNet portal that contains a tested version of the trait search feature.
We'll notify you again, via this GitHub repository, when publication has occurred. At that time, we'll include a link to the paper as well as instructions detailing how to use the new search feature.
Oh, and YES!, we're definitely giving your collection recognition in the paper.
