I checked the catalog and it says Caldas. Thank you very much for bringing this to my attention. I checked in Paynter's Gazeteer and he had questions about this location. He thought it should be the northwestern slope of Cerro Tatama. I have changed the database and the correction will appear when I update VertNet.

Hi
Ms Janet Hinshaw
Best regard
I am currently working in the area of Ecological Niche Modeling specifically in birds, pitifully in my country (Colombia) there are many gaps in information about them. That is the reason why the correction of data like the aforementioned, that you kindly corrected is vital for researchers. . I wonder if you could recommend me some tools for massive data debugging.
Thank you so much

Hi folks,
One good option for data perusal and cleaning is OpenRefine. VertNet, in collaboration with the GBIF BID program, SIB Colombia, and others, is putting together a biodiversity-targeted tutorial on using OpenRefine. Please contact Paula Zermoglio (pzermoglio@gmail.com) to inquire about getting a copy of that.
Cheers,
John

You could also recommend that he look at Pascal Title’s package in the R environment that has many easy-to-use functions for batch processing records - easily and quickly identifying both taxonomic/nomenclatural and geographic errors.
R package ‘rangeBuilder’ https://cran.r-project.org/web/packages/rangeBuilder/index.html
On that page, there is a pdf link to the reference manual that is very helpful!
