Keywords aren't used in any major search engine to rank, so it isn't worthwhile doing this - the GSA may if we use this in future.
However what is worthwhile is thinking what field, or combination of fields we want to be showing in the description metatag - the bit that shows up as the text on a Google search.
OK no worries about the keywords – we weren’t sure if they were used. But yes, that sounds good about the description. We should finalise that – is the first line in the google results the same as the title on the browser window?

Yup. It is one of the most significant factors in ranking. Or at least it was when I last looked at how people think it works!
Closed and moved to Of Course.
Please could we look at whether we can add the keywords to the meta data at some point? Along with other words such as University of Kent and so on?
