The Poetry team has shown an unwillingness to follow standards for a long time now, and with the emergence of Hatch, which is also endorsed by PyPA, there is little reason to keep using Poetry (apart from having a lock file).
This switch will require changes to pyproject.toml as well as the GitHub actions workflows.
