Facebook protocol for Miranda won't connect

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. I unpacked the file that I downloaded from 
http://addons.miranda-im.org/details.php?action=viewfile&id=4172.
2. I copied the icons and plugin folder contained in the archive to the Miranda 
folder (c:\program files (x86)\Miranda IM\).
3. After restarting Miranda I can create a new account in Miranda that uses the 
Facebook account. I type in my facebook email address and password and create 
the account.
4. The Facebook procotol icon appears at the base of the Miranda GUI window. 
When I click it and choose "online" I get a spinning icon for 3-4 seconds and 
then I see the offline icon again. I am online with an ICQ account, a Skype 
account and two MSN accounts. I have double checked that I'm typing in the 
correct Facebook password.

What is the expected output?

That the Facebook icon turns blue (online mode) and that I can see my facebook 
contacts in the Miranda contact list.

What do you see instead?

The Facebook icon stays grey (offline) and I can't see any of my facebook 
contacts.

Please provide any additional information below.

I really hope I can get this working.
