Investigate different means to create legend with MapBox #657

Is there a menu or dropdown option that could be added, so that perhaps the legend is only displayed when the user wants to see it? spend a little time digging around to find out if there are other existing tools or examples others have used that we could employ.

@jenniferRapp currently the legend does have a minimize function when you click the chevron to the right of the legend, we could have it collapsed to begin with and the user would have to open it up. But does this minimization ability hit this tickets target, or were you thinking of having the entire legend go away some how?
