When viewing search results on the map/list and clicking the "Search Earthquake Catalog" button, the current search parameters should be used to pre-populate the search form in order to easily edit the current search.
I believe this is working at intended on most OS/Browser combinations. We received a report this was not working on macOS 10.13.6 running Safari 12.1.1. See attached screenshots.
