Closed richbs closed 12 years ago

I hope we will be able to duplicate the HTML and JavaScript from the digitallabel.html template with a few tweaks.

Here are some further details on the appearance of each type of label: 1 Bio label (pic of Artist, no supplemental images, label to be one column) 3 Historical context labels to sit to the left of the Bio pic (no supplemental images, text label to be 2 column) An amount of objects to be treated as in the Digital Labels (supplemental images, labels to be as DLs)

(TextLabel) Frank Lloyd Wright (Biography)

Frank Lloyd Wright (born Frank Lincoln Wright, June 8, 1867 – April 9, 1959) was an American architect, interior designer, writer and educator, who designed more than 1,000 structures and completed 500 works. Wright believed in designing structures which were in harmony with humanity and its environment, a philosophy he called organic architecture. This philosophy was best exemplified by his design for Fallingwater (1935), which has been called "the best all-time work of American architecture".[1] Wright was a leader of the Prairie School movement of architecture and developed the concept of the Usonian home, his unique vision for urban planning in the United States.

(TextLabel) Historical Context 1

During 1991 a large scale exhibition on Frank Lloyd Wright was held in Japan. In the first issue of the Conservation Journal Lynda Hillyer, Head of the Textiles Section, described some of the work involved in the organisation and care of the exhibition particularly the Kauffman Office on loan from the V&A. When the exhibition originally took place in Japan a special structure was created for the display of the Kauffman office. It was decided to reuse the structure when the room was returned to the V&A, thereby making it possible to put the office on permanent display in the Henry Cole Wing at the V&A, fulfilling Edgar J. Kauffman's wishes when the office was donated in 1974.

(TextLabel) Historical Context 2

In 1936 Frank Lloyd Wright designed an office in a Pittsburgh department store for its owner, Edgar Kaufmann. The room was lined with plywood faced with swamp cypress and a similar finish was used for the furniture. This is one of three armchairs that sat around a built-in desk, below a wall decoration made from low-relief diagonal and right-angular plywood panels. The wall relief was echoed in the shape of the armchairs, which were essentially cubes cut diagonally at the rear corners, and embellished with plywood strips. The wooden walls, ceiling, floor and furniture were offset by the pale cream upholstery and carpet, enlivened with hints of lemon yellow. This was also designed by Wright and woven by Loja Saarinen.

(TextLabel) Historical Context 2

The massive stained oak table combines forms derived from the Gothic Revival and Arts and Crafts movements of the later 19th century. The colour and shape of the table, and of other pieces of furniture, were echoed in interior details throughout the house. Wright believed that wood should be cut simply and stained (never varnished) to reveal the 'nature' of the material.

At this point we can close the issue with my job being merged with the master repo. Any further change will be probably pushed to the master and in any case will be tracked on new issues

Couple of cosmetic things to take into account according to the design:

I thank you!

richbs commented 12 years ago

Also need to modify the build script to take into account all Portals as well. Possibly @richbs TODO
