Notification shows previous song data instead of current #1088

Description

I was checking my notifications and noticed that Vanilla was showing the previous song's name and cover art. Tapping Pause and Play once updated it to the current song.

Steps to reproduce the issue

Issue happens sporadically, so no solid STR yet. Though I'm leaning towards rapid switching of songs being a possible cause.

I can confirm this bug. Vanilla 1.3.0 on a Samsung S20 with Android 13. Doesn't happen on other music apps

True. I've had it happen a couple of times recently as well. Updating the info...

@adrian-bl Could you please tag the 1.3.1 release so that F-Droid users can get it? I just realised Play Store has had this version for months while F-Droid has remained on 1.3.0.

Ok, done

I have this issue ever since i switched from a Fairphone 3+ to my new Samsung Galaxy S23+ rougly a year ago. On the Fairphone, everything worked as expected. From the first days of using my Galaxy S23+ I noticed this issue. I never skip songs (since this was mentioned as a possible cause here), but this issue appears absolutely every time I use Vanilla without exceptions after the first few songs, if not even directly after the first.

Interestingly, I also use a Galaxy Watch6. On this device (which is paired to my Galaxy S23+) it always shows the correct information.

It updates to the correct data the second I push the "Pause" button in the notification, but will then keep this info until the next song finishes, after which it will update to the data of the last/previous song.

I use Vanillla 1.3.2 from Play store on an up-to-date vendor-provided/vanilla Android.

I would gladly help resolving this issue by providing more info, but I don't really know what would be of use or how to obtain it.
