Can only copy to favorites after locking screen and unlocking it again #635

Describe the bug

The 'Copy to Favorites' button is unexpectedly disabled (grayed out). The issue can be temporarily resolved by locking (Win + L) and unlocking the screen. However, the issue reappears upon changing the wallpaper to an image that already exists in favorites.

Context

The 'Copy to Favorites' button stays disabled when the wallpaper is changed from an image already present in favorites. This issue occurs regardless of whether Variety is initiated on system start or manually started later.

To Reproduce

  1. Launch Variety.
  2. Navigate through wallpapers using the 'Next' button until you land on a wallpaper that is already in your favorites.
  3. Continue to navigate through wallpapers using the 'Next' button until you land on a wallpaper that is not in your favorites, and notice that the 'Copy to Favorites' button is disabled and remains so until the screen is locked and unlocked.

Attach Variety's log file

I have a lot of sources I get my wallpapers from, so variety -v spits out an incredible amount of data each second; I thus think that the log provides a lot of noise. Should you require it, though, please do let me know.

I have the same issue on Endeavour OS with Gnome (44.4): the 'Copy to Favorites' button is disabled (grayed out). I have to either log out and log back in or close and reopen Variety (version 0.8.10).

With variety running, just try to lock the screen and unlock it again; it should work again.
